UCLA Financial Aid & Scholarships Registered Student Application

To access additional scholarships across UCLA, you can submit a UCLA Financial Aid and Scholarships Registered Student Application. This application is available year-round. 


UCLA's extensive database, known as GRAPES, contains scholarships, grants, fellowships, and postdoctoral awards accessible to applicants from any graduate program, graduate students pursuing a master’s thesis or doctoral dissertation, and postdoctoral scholars. You may also want to subscribe to the Gradfellowships-L Subscription to receive email notifications regarding fellowship opportunities. 

UCLA Center for Scholarships & Scholar Enrichment

The UCLA Center for Scholarships & Scholar Enrichment helps UCLA students identify and apply for scholarships. They offer workshops, individual counseling, and other resources.


Healthcare Association Scholarships

Scholarship supports students enrolled in master's and doctoral nursing programs at AACN member institutions who have a desire to become future nurse faculty. Must be a member of the Graduate Nursing Student Academy.

Eligible Disciplines: Master's and Doctoral

Award: $5,000

QGenda, a leader in healthcare workforce management solutions, has joined with AACN on a new scholarship program for students in undergraduate and graduate nursing programs. The $5,000 scholarship will be awarded to a student from an AACN member school three times per year. 

Eligible Disciplines: Undergraduate, Graduate

Award: $5,000

Application Period: 

  • July - Only students in entry-level baccalaureate programs may apply
  • February - Only students in accelerated baccalaureate or master’s programs may apply
  • October - Only students in master’s and doctoral programs may apply


Hurst Review and AACN partner to offer this scholarship program that recognizes and rewards entry-level nursing students for outstanding academic performance.

Eligible Disciplines: Entry-level nursing students

Award: $2,500

Application Deadlines: September 1 and February 1  


Scholarship program for students enrolled in master's and doctoral programs who are committed to making a positive impact on the nation's health and health care. Awarded to eligible GNSA members.

Eligible Disciplines: Master's and Doctoral; must be GNSA member

Award: $5,000


AANP scholarships are available to members who are currently enrolled in an accredited graduate school in pursuit of an advanced degree. Applicants must be a licensed registered nurse, have at least one semester of classes completed and be scheduled to complete an eligible NP program

Eligible Disciplines: APRN, DNP, PhD

Award: $2,500 to $5,000

ACNL awards scholarships to support registered nurses in expanding their leadership acumen through advanced study, pursuing higher degrees to meet community or organizational needs, and advancing nursing knowledge through research conduct and dissemination. ACNL membership is not required to apply

Award: Scholarships are awarded based on dollars available in the scholarship fund and the number of individuals who have applied.

ACNL provides scholarships to support graduating student nurses in completing their pre-licensure requirements. Scholarships are awarded to student nurses who have graduated from an accredited program and are in the process of applying for the NCLEX exam.

Eligible Disciplines: BSN, MECN


The Bachelor of Science in Nursing Scholarship Program (BSNSP) increases the number of appropriately trained nurses providing direct patient care in a qualified facility in California. In exchange for a 12-month service obligation practicing and providing direct patient care in an underserved community, eligible applicants may receive up to $10,000.

The Advanced Practice Healthcare Scholarship Program (APHSP) increases the number of appropriately trained healthcare professionals providing direct patient care in a qualified facility in California. In exchange for a 12-month service obligation practicing and providing direct patient care in an underserved community, eligible applicants may receive up to $25,000.

Application Period: August-October


HRSA offers scholarships to help you pay for your health professions’ education. In return, you work at a Critical Shortage Facility (CSF) when you graduate.

Eligible Disciplines: Undergraduate, Graduate

Award: Covers tuition, fees, and other educational costs, along with a monthly stipend

Application Period: March-May


General Nursing Scholarships

This scholarship is open to Undergraduate and Graduate full-time nursing students enrolled in a state-approved undergraduate or graduate nursing program in the states of California and Nevada.

Eligible Disciplines: Undergraduate and Graduate

Award: $5,000

Application Period: September-December


The Deloras Jones Nursing Scholarship provides financial assistance for students enrolled in any affiliated Southern California nursing program. Based primarily on financial need and grade point average, these scholarships are awarded to those who have achieved academic excellence, and those pursuing graduate nursing and doctoral degrees.

Eligible Disciplines: MSN, DNP, PhD

Award: $2,000

Application Period: Summer


Awarded to students that are enrolled as a full-time graduate students in a Nursing degree program in the fall of the year in which the scholarships are awarded. 

Eligible Disciplines: Graduate Students or College Seniors planning to enroll in graduate school in upcoming academic year

Award: $5,000-$10,000

Application Period: May-August


GoodRx Helps recognizes the value of nursing staff as a core part of a patient’s care team. Increasing equity in nursing is critical to better patient outcomes and building stronger communities. Nursing students from underrepresented groups to apply for a $5,000 scholarship toward their degree or certification.

Eligible Disciplines: Current or recently graduated nursing student (BSN, MSN, DNP)

Funding is available to those who demonstrate financial need, reside in, and attend accredited colleges and universities in California.

Scholarships for Special Interests

This award recognizes an outstanding research report, thesis, or published article related to women and health or women in health-related endeavors. Named for Elizabeth Blackwell, MD, the first woman to graduate from medical school, it is made possible by the generosity of Mrs. Jean Stone.

The Undergraduate Nursing Diversity Scholarship is awarded to an undergraduate at an accredited school of nursing, from a racial or ethnic group underrepresented among nurses. Eligible applicants include students enrolled in an undergraduate accredited school of nursing who intends to work in maternal and infant health after graduating from nursing school.

Award: $10,000

The scholarship is available to registered nurses pursuing degrees at the master's or doctorate level with a demonstrated commitment to improving maternal and infant health outcomes and health equity for all moms and babies.

Eligible Disciplines: Registered nurses currently enrolled in a graduate program in maternal-child nursing at the master's or doctoral level

This scholarship aims provide scholarships to registered nurses who are committed to oncology nursing to continue their education by pursuing a research doctoral degree (Ph.D.) or clinical doctoral degree (DNP).

Award: $7,500


The ONS Foundation provides educational opportunities for oncology nurses including scholarships, career development, and more.


This scholarship program is intended to increase diversity and inclusion within the GI profession. This scholarship provides financial support to SGNA members from underrepresented racial and ethnic backgrounds, gender identities, sexual orientations and or/those who have been impacted by disability.

Diversity Scholarships

The Barbara Rhomberg Excellence in Nursing Scholarship is awarded each year to a non-traditional, fulltime student pursuing undergraduate degrees in nursing. Undergraduate nursing programs are those offering an associate or bachelor’s degree in nursing. Non-traditional students are those students who postponed the pursuit of a college degree after high school, or had their college careers interrupted, and instead entered the workforce, or military or fulfilled a family or non-profit obligation.

Award: $1,000

Applicants must be nursing students with a documented disability who have applied to, or already been admitted to, a college or university program on a full-time basis.

Through the generosity of donations by its members, AAMN is pleased to announce it will award two $1,000 scholarships to current AAMN student members who are nursing undergraduates.

IHS scholarships offer qualified American Indian and Alaska Native health profession students a unique opportunity to establish an educational foundation as they prepare to pursue a career in Indian health.

The National Society of The Colonial Dames of America has provided scholarship awards since 1928 to assist students of American Indian, Alaska Native, or Native Hawaiian heritage pursuing degrees in nursing or in the field of health care. Students should be focused on a career goal directly related to the healthcare needs of the American Indian, Alaskan Native, or Hawaiian Native community

Eligible Disciplines: Undergraduate, Graduate, Post Graduate

Award: Minimum $1,500

An academic award of $1,000 will be provided to an indigenous nursing student by Study.com.

Scholarships are granted to Native Hawaiians pursuing careers in primary and behavioral health disciplines. Scholars deliver culturally competent primary health care services to Native Hawaiians and disadvantaged people who live in high-need and rural communities in Hawaii.

Award: Full tuition + monthly stipend + educational expenses

The National Black Nurses Association provides scholarships to students at all levels. Must be a member of NBNA and a member of a local chapter (if one exists in your area).

Eligible Disciplines: BSN, MSN, Doctorate

Award: $1,000-$15,000

NAHN awards scholarships to active and eligible members who are enrolled in accredited LVN/LPN, associate, diploma, baccalaureate, and graduate nursing programs for the next academic year. Scholarship recipients are a select group of nurses who demonstrate promise of professional contributions to the nursing profession and who have the potential to act as role models for other aspiring nursing students.

This scholarship is open to students with outstanding academic records, leadership, and who are committed to serving Hispanics. Applicants are not required to be Hispanic. However, an affinity for the health of Hispanic communities and an interest in participating in NHHF Scholars Alumni activities is required.

Outside scholarship awards are coordinated with your financial aid offer per federal law. You are responsible to report expected or received funds on your Financial Aid Notification (FAN) on MyUCLA or by notifying the SON Financial Aid Office. Please let us know how much you are receiving in outside support AND the source of the award(s). Once we review the information, we will generate a new FAN, which you can review on MyUCLA.

It is our policy to replace your need-based loans and work-study first. If the amount of outside aid exceeds the amount of loan and work in your award, your grant aid could be reduced.

If you receive a scholarship from an OUTSIDE DONOR, follow these 3 steps:

  • Request that outside scholarship CHECKS ARE MADE PAYABLE to UC REGENTS.
  • Give the donor your 9-digit UID (UCLA Identification Number) and ask them to include it with your award.
  • Have the donor include a letter explaining the award terms when the scholarship check is sent to UCLA. Make sure to report any outside scholarships on your Financial Aid Notification (FAN) or contact the Financial Aid and Scholarships office to report the award.
