Rey Roca

Rey Paolo Ernesto J. Roca III, MSN, RN, PHN, CNE, PMH-BC, a PhD student in the UCLA School of Nursing, has been selected to receive the 2024 Distinguished Teaching Award for Teaching Assistants (Tas) by the UCLA Distinguished Teaching Award Selection Committee. 

This award is given to TAs who have demonstrated exceptional teaching skills, creativity, and dedication to their students. Roca’s commitment to teaching was recognized by UCLA Nursing Associate Professor Dr. Sophie Sokolow, who, along with Student Affairs Office Lizbeth Del Rio, nominated Roca for this honor. The Committee was impressed by Roca’s innovative teaching methods as well as his ability to inspire and motivate learners. 

As the recipient of this award, Roca will be recognized at the annual Andrea L. Rich Night to Honor Teaching event in the Fall, and his achievements will be shared with the wider UCLA community.
