Kari Jackson joined the UCLA School of Nursing as a Lecturer for the pre-licensure bachelor students and the Entry-Level Master students in the fall of 2020. She teaches a variety of courses, including Fundamentals of Professional Nursing skills labs, Physical Assessment skills labs, and Secondary Prevention. Jackson also serves as a Nurse Specialty Coach, providing one-on-one mentoring for students related to pediatric nursing, fundamentals skills, exam preparation and general nursing course work. Before joining the faculty team at UCLA, Jackson worked as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Emergency Department at the Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles (CHLA), a pediatric Level I Trauma center which receives nearly 90,000 visits a year. Jackson maintains a clinical practice by serving in the role of a Credentialed School Nurse for Los Angeles Unified School District at a public high school in downtown Los Angeles. Additionally, Jackson is a certified Clinical Nurse Leader (CNL) and is committed to advancing the CNL role in the nursing profession.
