President of the American Academy of Nursing to deliver keynote address to 2023 UCLA Nursing graduating class
Dr. Kenneth White, President of American Academy of Nursing (AAN) and Dean of the School of Nursing at the MGH Institute of Health Professions, will deliver the keynote address at the UCLA School of Nursing 2023 Commencement ceremony on Saturday, June 17.
As one of the country’s premier Nursing organizations, AAN works to advance health policy and practice through the generation, synthesis, and dissemination of nursing knowledge. Dr. White was elected to serve as president in 2021 and is both a Fellow of AAN and the American College of Healthcare Executives.
“We are honored to welcome Dr. White to UCLA and look forward to the knowledge and wisdom he will surely convey to our graduating students,” said Dr. Lin Zhan, Dean and Professor of the UCLA School of Nursing.
Prior to joining the Institute of Health Professions, Dr. White served as the Associate Dean for Strategic Partnerships in the School of Nursing and Endowed Professor of Nursing at the University of Virginia. He was also a professor and directed the graduate programs in health administration at Virginia Commonwealth University for twenty years.
Along with his academic career, Dr. White is also a certified nurse practitioner, specializing in hospice and palliative care.
The UCLA School of Nursing Commencement will take place on Saturday, June 17 at 8:30 a.m. inside UCLA’s historic Royce Hall. Graduates can find more information online.
