Charlene Niemi

UCLA School of Nursing Associate Adjunct Professor Charlene Niemi, PhD, RN, MSN, PHN, is a co-author of the newly released 11th edition of Rector’s Community and Public Health Nursing: Promoting the Public’s Health, a widely respected textbook used in nursing programs across the country.

The new edition introduces population-focused nursing care and broadens the scope of nursing education beyond the individual patient to address the health of entire communities. With a strong emphasis on real-world application, the textbook underscores the critical role of public health nursing in promoting health among all communities.

“The latest edition of Rector’s Community and Public Health Nursing is not only a valuable academic resource, but also a relevant and practical guide for navigating today’s complex healthcare environment,” said Niemi. “I am honored to contribute to a work that will support nursing students as they prepare to serve and lead in their communities.”
