Dr. Kristin Kopelson published her DNP Scholarly Project titled, The 1-minute preceptor to improve diagnostic reasoning in a primary care nurse practitioner residency program, in the Journal of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners in June 2024.
Dr. Kristin Kopelson is Co-Director of the Center of Education Interprofessional Academic Homeless Patient Aligned Care Team at the Veterans Affairs Greater Los Angeles and Assistant Clinical Professor - Volunteer at the UCLA School of Nursing. Precepting tools have been shown to help preceptors but effects on trainees was not known. Her project demonstrates use of the OMP improved diagnostic reasoning in NP trainees. The OMP and RIME framework provided standardization of precepting and trainee discussions on improvements.
