A Year of Growth & Impact: APINSAA Wraps Up ’24 – ‘25

As the 2024–2025 academic year comes to a close, the Asian and Pacific Islander Nursing Student and Alumni Association (APINSAA) at the UCLA School of Nursing is celebrating a year marked by remarkable growth and community engagement.
This year, APINSAA expanded its membership to over 60 students and alumni, all united by a shared mission: to inspire, mentor, and develop future healthcare leaders within the Asian and Pacific Islander (API) community. The organization hosted an average of three meetings and one social event per quarter, creating strong bonds and a sense of belonging among members.
Beyond campus, APINSAA has made a big impact across Los Angeles County through its commitment to public health. Volunteering at health fairs up to three times per quarter, the organization provided services such as vision screenings, vital sign assessments, translation support, and body mass index checks – reaching over 750 community members.

“All of this growth happened within just 3 quarters. It feels like a long journey, but in 30 weeks, we’ve watched APINSAA grow,” said Vy Le, ‘24/’25 President of APINSAA and nursing student. “From volunteering at events, to socials, to general meetings, we’ve continued to provide a safe space for cultural exploration in the API community. And all of this couldn’t have happened without a team effort. A big thank you to our 2024-2025 club members, officers, and advisors.”
As APINSAA looks ahead, the foundation laid this year promises even greater strides in community service, leadership, and cultural celebration.
