Joe C. Wen School of Nursing ties for California’s #1 undergraduate nursing program

The UCLA Joe C. Wen School of Nursing’s Bachelor of Science in Nursing program is once again ranked #1 in California, according to U.S. News & World Report’s annual university program rankings. UCLA shares the statewide ranking with the University of San Francisco.

Nationally, UCLA Nursing’s undergraduate program ranks #19, alongside the school’s #8 ranked master’s program and #25 ranked Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program. 

At the campus level, UCLA regained the title of America’s #1 public university. 

“We are proud to be recognized as one of the nation’s premier nursing schools and the #1 undergraduate program in California,” said Barbara Bates-Jensen, PhD, RN, WOCNF, FAAN, interim dean and professor at the UCLA Joe C. Wen School of Nursing. “This achievement reflects the talent and dedication of our entire UCLA Nursing community and our shared commitment to advancing health through education, research, and service.”

UCLA Nursing shares the #19 national ranking with seven other distinguished universities; Clemson University, George Washington University, Loyola University Chicago, The University of Alabama, University of Kansas, University of Wisconsin – Madison, and the University of San Francisco. 

U.S. News & World Report annually surveys nursing deans and senior faculty at eligible nursing schools across the country. Undergraduate program rankings are based solely on responses to peer assessment surveys.
