UCLA Joe C. Wen School of Nursing student and National Medical Fellowships (NMF) scholar Richie Tran has been recognized in NMF’s Portraits series, which highlights health care leaders shaping a more equitable future in medicine.

Tran, a first‑generation registered nurse and the son of Vietnamese refugees, was profiled for his deep commitment to restoring dignity, trust, and compassion within the communities he serves.

"NMF’s community showed me that healing extends beyond the clinic walls. It lives in policy, mentorship, and creating pathways for those who come after us," said Tran, who will graduate from UCLA's Advanced Practice Registered Nurse program in June 2026.
