Kimberly A. Lewis, PhD, RN, NEA-BC, CGNC is an Assistant Adjunct Professor at the UCLA Joe C. Wen School of Nursing and a Senior Nurse Scientist at UCLA Health’s Center for Nursing Excellence, where she leads the nursing research, evidence-based practice, and innovation program that supports UCLA Health's nearly 6,000 practicing nurses.

Her work brings together multi-omics, cognitive outcomes, and cardiometabolic risk, grounded in experience with large cohort studies and translational biomarker science. She has worked across academic and health system settings, including serving as a Magnet Program Director and leading an organization to initial Magnet designation with six exemplars.

She currently serves as the 2026 Chair of the UC Nurse Scientist Collaborative and is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine (Overseas), as well as a member of Sigma Xi Scientific Research Honor Society and Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society. She earned her PhD, MSN, and BS from the University of Texas at Austin and completed a fully funded postdoctoral fellowship at the University of California, San Francisco in physiological nursing.

She is committed to developing the next generation of nurse scientists and advancing nursing’s role as a driving force in shaping the future of health care.
