Dubravka Labovic, RN, MSN, is a PhD candidate in Nursing Science with more than 10 years of nursing experience in geriatrics, dementia care, and older adult health. Her clinical and leadership experience spans long-term care, memory care, home health, and caring for veterans and their families. These experiences have shaped her research interests in dementia caregiving, caregiver health, aging, and the ways healthcare systems can better support families caring for older adults.
Her doctoral research focuses on the physical health of informal caregivers of people living with dementia, with particular attention to chronic pain, caregiving demands, and the role of social support. She is especially interested in understanding how the demands of long-term caregiving affect caregivers beyond traditional measures of stress and burden, and in developing practical, evidence-based approaches that recognize caregiver health as an important component of dementia care.
Beyond her research, she is passionate about translating nursing science into accessible and meaningful resources for caregivers, families, and healthcare professionals. Her long-term goal is to bridge research, clinical practice, and caregiver education to improve the well-being of both people living with dementia and those who care for them.
