About
Alexis Ross, RN, is a PhD student whose research focuses on promoting resilience and mental wellness among adolescents with high Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) scores. Her work explores activity-based interventions that foster emotional well-being and coping in at-risk youth, with an added interest in how environmental health and sustainability influence overall well-being. As a neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) nurse, Alexis brings a strong foundation in trauma-informed and family-centered care. She also has experience in user experience (UX) design, which informs her interest in developing human-centered, accessible health solutions. Alexis has contributed to community-based research aimed at improving access to care for minority populations and volunteered with organizations such as Surfers Healing. She has served with the National Student Nurses' Association (NSNA) as a committee member and is UC-HBCU fellow dedicated to advancing innovation in nursing science.
