Nursing student Natalie Coughlin

UCLA School of Nursing student Natalie Coughlin is the recipient of the 2024-2025 Bonnie Fang Foundation scholarship. The scholarship recognizes nursing students who have shown leadership throughout their studies and are also committed to giving back to their communities.

Coughlin is the daughter of a United States Marine Corp veteran and is dedicated to helping veterans with their service-related physical and mental health issues, according to the Bonny Fang Foundation. She aims to integrates holistic patient care while making meaningful change within healthcare, ultimately using her skills to care for and give back to the nation’s heroes. In addition to receiving the scholarship, Coughlin will serve as a Student Ambassador for the foundation.

“Natalie brings a fond interest for learning to her studies and clinical duties, while showing compassion for her patients,” said Robin Lee, President of the Bonnie Fang Foundation.  “She embodies the characteristics of what our foundation stands for, and we’re glad to help her during her nursing school journey.”

Coughlin will be recognized at the foundation’s annual fundraiser, the NURSES ROCK 5-10K Walk/Run, taking place on Saturday, May 3, 2025 at the Frank G. Bonelli Regional Park in San Dimas, CA. 

Coughlin is one of three students to receive the scholarship this school year.
