A student engaging with UCLA Health

On Friday, April 14 the UCLA School of Nursing hosted its Inaugural Community and Career Fair at the UCLA James West Alumni Center. The event attracted over 35 organizations, institutions, health care systems, and UCLA student organizations.

With over 120 participants involved (including UCLA nursing students, and nursing students from various local schools, undergraduate, graduate, and high school students) the goal behind this program is to expand access to diverse career opportunities in greater Los Angeles and Ventura County. The program also included information sessions about the UCLA School of Nursing academic programs.

The UCLA School of Nursing is grateful for the positive response and support from the community in launching this inaugural event.

“The community response was incredibly supportive along with their excitement to participate in the program and recruit students to work in medically underserved areas in Los Angeles and Ventura County," said Juan Espinoza, Director of Student Success at the UCLA School of Nursing. "I am grateful we were able to bring this opportunity to our students at the UCLA School of Nursing. I look forward to future engagement opportunities with our community partners for the advancement of the diversification of the healthcare workforce."
