Kari Jackson joined the UCLA School of Nursing as a Lecturer for pre-licensure Bachelor’s and entry-level Master’s students in the fall of 2020. She teaches across a variety of courses, including Fundamentals of Professional Nursing, Physical Assessment, Secondary Prevention, Psychiatric Nursing Clinicals, Pediatric Nursing Clinicals, and Clinical Immersion. Jackson is a member of the core simulation team, where she contributes to case development, facilitation, assessment, and program-level efforts to implement high-quality simulation-based learning across the curriculum. Before joining the faculty at UCLA, Jackson worked as a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA), a pediatric Level I Trauma Center. She has also served as a Credentialed School Nurse for the Los Angeles Unified School District and practiced as a psychiatric nurse in a high-acuity community psychiatric hospital in Los Angeles. Jackson is currently pursuing a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree with a focus on health systems leadership.
