Join us Thursday, November 30th, 12pm-1pm in-person at Factor 2-648 or via Zoom for our kickoff event of our Faculty Spotlight Lecture Series.

Each quarter, students will have the opportunity of getting to know their Faculty beyond the classroom via open lecturettes where they will share about their life, professional, and academic journey to where they are today. This Lecture Series will feature School of Nursing Faculty, their work, research, and accomplishments.

We are very excited to share that our first Faculty Speaker is Dr. Kristen Choi, PhD, PMHNP-BC, FAAN.

Dr. Choi is an Assistant Professor of Nursing and Public Health at UCLA. Her research aims to improve access to and delivery of mental health care for children, adolescents, and other underserved populations. In addition to her role at UCLA, Dr. Choi is an Adjunct Investigator in the Department of Research & Evaluation at KPSC and an Associate Director of Nursing for the UCLA National Clinician Scholars Program. She also practices as a PMHNP at a community psychiatric hospital in Los Angeles. Dr. Choi is a Fellow of the American Academy of Nursing and the first Nurse to be listed on Forbes '30 Under 30 Healthcare' in the United States. Outside of work, Dr. Choi enjoys running, hiking, reading, cooking, and listening to podcasts.

The purpose behind this program is to offer a meaningful Faculty-student engagement opportunity to help guide students on their life and academic journey by providing continuous engagement and lasting learning opportunities.
