Awards

Third year doctoral student and PSI collaborator Linda Kim was a recipient of the first research grant given by  the Collaborative Alliance for Nursing Outcomes (CALNOC) Research Fund.  Her study will describe the effects of the simulation-based TeamSTEPPS interdisciplinary communication and teamwork training on patient outcomes and participants' perceptions of communication effectiveness and teamwork.  She will also be presenting a poster on the study at WIN.

Jim Morrison, PSI Director of Operations and Senior Research Associate, has been selected as a 2012 Center for Health Quality and Innovation (CHQI) Fellow.  In this role he will be building and implementing his project entitled 'Modeling and Projecting the Impact of Patient Safety Related Changes in Medicare Reimbursement at the Hospital Unit Level Within the UCLA Health System Over the Next 5-7 Years'.
