The UCLA School of Nursing is ranked among the Top Nursing Schools in the Country by US News and World Reports.

The School offers four programs:  Bachelor of Science - a prelicensure program for undergraduate study; Master's Entry Clinical Nurse - for individuals with a baccalaureate degree in another discipline who are interested in a career in nursing; Advanced Practice - for nurses with a bachelor's degree in nursing; and PhD - for individuals who which to pursue a research trajectory.

Education will be provided in both classroom and clinical settings. The curriculum is rigorous and students will leave with the knowledge, skills and abilities to respond to the healthcare needs of a diverse population, in whatever setting you decide to practice.


From the laboratory bench to the patient's bedside, from pediatrics to geriatrics, from prevention to cause, ground-breaking advances are being driven by nursing research.

The UCLA School of Nursing has an exceptionally well qualified faculty, many of whom have earned national and international reputations for excellence. Half of our faculty members are fellows in the prestigious American Academy of Nursing.

Our faculty is dedicated to providing high-quality instruction, clinical supervision, and mentorship to students. Faculty members are involved in research in a wide array of areas and forge collaborative relationships with scientists and clinicians in other schools and departments at UCLA, within the University of California, at other university campuses, and at clinical and research-oriented institutions locally, regionally, and internationally.

Clinical Practice

We are creating the nurse leaders of tomorrow by ensuring that our students receive the best possible clinical education today.

The School of Nursing offers students the opportunity to work with patients in a wide variety of clinical settings. The Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center, consistently voted the best hospital in the West by US News and World Report, is a state-of-the-art, technologically advanced, million-plus square foot hospital that that features 520 private rooms and numerous specialty clinics. In addition, the School of Nursing has affiliation agreements with over 200 community affiliates.


The 419-acre UCLA Campus is located in the green rolling hills of Westwood, California. The UCLA School of Nursing is housed in the Louis and Doris Factor Health Sciences Building on the south end of campus in the 35-acre Center for the Health Sciences.

The Louise Darling Biomedical Library, which houses over 530,000 volumes and 6,000 periodicals, serves as the professional library for students in medicine, nursing, and the life sciences. Facilities of the University Library and all of its 12 branches are also available to students in nursing.
