Simulation Essentials Class

Description:

An entry level course for those interested in using human patient simulators for nursing education. Learn what simulation is all about!

Dates:

Part 1: September 4, 2014  8 am - 4 pm

Part 2:  September 5, 2014  8 am - 4 pm

Faculty:

Mary Ann Shinnick, PhD, ACNP, CCNS
Extensive Simulation experience, published research in simulation, presented at both SSIH and INACSL Conferences for Simulation and has been teaching Simulation to nursing educators for 6 years. 

Target Audience:

  • Nurse Educators
  • Hospital Educators
  • Clinical Nurse Specialists
  • Anyone who teaches medical professionals

Objectives:

By the end of the session, the participant will be able to:

  1. Define simulation
  2. Identify the different uses for human patient simulation
  3. List the components of simulation
  4. Develop a basic scenario
  5. Perform a basic debriefing

* NOTE: Part 2 of the simulation class requires prior completion of Simulation Essentials Part I or the equivelent (CINHC Simulation Class Level I).
