Four Nursing Professors Inducted as Fellows

Four School of Nursing faculty have been elected Fellows in the American Academy of Nursing. Selection criteria include evidence of significant contributions to nursing and health care. They included:
 
Barbara Bates-Jensen, associate professor, for her work related to pressure ulcers and wound care, quality of care, and implementation science in long-term care. Her wound assessment tool is used throughout the world.
 
Lorraine Evangelista, associate professor, for her groundbreaking biobehavioral research of cardiovascular patients including health-risk behaviors, compliance, self-care management, treatment-seeking delays, and quality of life with a special interest in advanced heart failure and post-heart transplant populations.
 
Sally Maliski, assistant professor, for her work in symptom experience and management among low-income populations, currently men with prostate cancer and their partners.
 
Dottie Wiley, associate professor,  for her work in men's and women's health as it relates to sexuality and sexually transmitted diseases; HIV infection, including risk factors for disease progression; HPV infection, vaccine efficacy and risk factors for infection; HPV-and HIV-specific cellular immune responses.
